Our baby girl is 1!?!?!

Quick photo dump for the night. We had a great party at Razzleberry Ice Cream Cafe and Market on Sunday for Clara's first birthday. She had so much fun -- as you can see below in the pictures.

Do you like my smile?

My Aunt Ilona. She spoils me so much =)

Scoping out more ice cream!!

Why are all these people singing??

This is an interesting feeling... Usually Dad has yelled for me to stop by now!

Well, Alright then... time to dig in!

Om nom nom

Look! Someone brought me a cupcake too! This must be my lucky day!

Sugar.... Coma ..... must ... keep ... head ... up ...

Hi. I'm 1 today. I *love* making messes!

Chillin' since they took my cake.

Dead lift -- Go!

Yup. I got that.

Hey Chef Waldek -- *this* is sexy, and I know it!

Nothing says I'm done like walking out naked with a balloon! I'm out.

Pumpkin Patch (#2) Pictures!

When I came home from my trip to Omaha, I insisted that we do another pumpkin patch together as a family. We needed pumpkins to carve, and since Halloween is one of my most favorite holidays, I wanted to go to the pumpkin patch too!

One of the local churches in town has a ton of pumpkins shipped in and laid in piles in the church lawn. The church, First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge (www.fbcoakridge.org), has a great set up. The kids can climb through the pumpkin piles and pick the best one. And they have them arranged by price, which makes it easy on the parents to direct kids to a specific pile.

Clara loved playing with the pumpkins. And Hallie kept finding pumpkins she could drag to Jason's feet. We did this pumpkin patch last year and really enjoyed it then. I think it's going to become a staple in our Halloween events because we can pick pumpkins based on price and not have to weigh them. And the people working there are great with the kids.

Pumpkin Patch (#1) Pictures!

In October, Clara and I took a trip to Omaha to visit my parents and that meant I left Jason home with Ruby, Hallie and James. The local mom's group had planned a field trip to the pumpkin patch on one of the days I was gone, so Jason got to spend the day with a bunch of moms, kids and pumpkins! They went to Deep Well Farm (www.deepwellfarm.com) in Lenoir City. It sounds and looks like they had a ton of fun!

Jason said the farm was great because it had animals, a corn kernel box, lots of pumpkins, and good facilities. The kids all loved the slides and the hay ride. I think we'll be visiting it again next year so we can all enjoy!

I was pretty proud of Jason for remembering to dress the older three in their Halloween shirts. I love getting seasonal outfit pictures and he even managed to snap a shot of himself and Hallie on the hay ride.

Ruby's first day of school!

Ruby on her way to School for her first day. "Mommy, you don't need to walk me up to the door."

Ruby on her way into her first day at Wildcat Preschool!

Way behind...

So we haven't really kept up this summer. Things in the Hill household have been fast and fun -- we very much enjoyed our membership to the Oak Ridge Country Club pool. James & Hallie are pros at moving around in the "big" pool with their puddle jumpers (floats on the arm that are sewed to a float that goes around the chest), and Ruby discovered the diving board. Clara loved floating either in our arms or with James moving her float around the pool as well.

They are also enjoying the playset (hrm. looks like I need to do a post with photos of that...) in the back yard. They also enjoy digging in the dirt and our container garden of tomatoes and green peppers on the deck. It's amazing that we can just open up the back door and they will go swing, slide, and play for a couple of hours.

Recently we've been working on potty training Hallie and James -- which has been an adventure for sure. They're doing well, but haven't progressed as quickly as Ruby did -- I suppose that's to be expected.

Ruby has begun Wildcat Preschool -- a 3 day per week 1/2 day program that is part of Oak Ridge High School. Students who want to go into childhood education work with kids. Sounds great, right? Ruby's class currently has about 20 kids paired up with 2 High School students each. To say she's in love would be an understatement. She is currently working on her sight words and is doing a fantastic job.

We also made a trip to Iowa this summer, Grandma and Grumpa made a visit; as did Grammy.

Clara is doing well, and has been getting closer to sleeping through the night. We have 4 teeth, and have moved onto some solid foods. There will be a post coming with her stats at 9 months. Though we're 2 months from her 1 year birthday!

So. In short, life is pretty good. I'd promise more frequent updates, but keeping up with these kids is far too fun to commit to spending more time on the computer! Keep looking back -- we'll update; we promise ;)

Early May

Here are a couple pictures from early May 2012. I really like the picture of the kids on the couch. Most of the time they are really happy hanging out together!

Wow, I'm a Slacker

Almost three months since a post has to be a new record for us. Apparently when you add a fourth child to the mix, life gets crazy and spending time online drops drastically on the priority list!

Clara's growing up. She's 7 months old and crawls now. She loves to chase her siblings and "talk" to them. When someone shrieks, she yells right back at them and grins.

Ruby is FOUR! Can you believe it? My baby is going to start Kindergarten in another year ... it seems like we just had her yesterday.

James and Hallie are loving life. We might start potty training soon. They love going to "school" and are learning how to spell their names.

Jason and I are good. We are exhausted (because Clara's not a good sleeper) and we seem to always have 27 projects going. It's a crazy life, but we are having so much fun.
