Trapped!

Jason got the baby gate fully put up and Ruby is well aware that she can't get out. Enjoy some pictures!

Ruby's becoming more mobile by the day. Last night we captured this video. You'll be shocked/amazed/proud at what you see next.

Picture Update

Just a quick update. Things are going well here ... we were all sick with a nasty cold this weekend, and Ruby seems to have gotten the worst of it. So we had a lazy weekend recuperating. Enjoy the pictures ... she's getting bigger every day! (18 pounds, 14 ounces as of last Friday!)
Grammy came to visit for Jason's birthday (and to see "Little Miss")

I really enjoyed trying fresh avocado ... and I really liked it!

I stole Daddy's hat and put it on all by myself (that's why it's facing the wrong way).

Winter Wonderland

Our family moved South to get out of the cold winter weather. That was my reasoning ... I don't think Jason would agree. And today when we woke up, it was a winter wonderland outside. We were expecting 2-4 inches of snow throughout the day. We didn't get nearly that much, but we did have some stick, and Ruby was able to go out and play in it. Her favorite activity, I think, was eating the snow.

New House & Other Updates

Look ma! Almost no hands :)

Cool new toy!

Hanging out in the new kitchen.

Jason, Ruby & I moved last Saturday! We now have a permanent (not rental) home in Oak Ridge. We are much closer to Jason's work here, and very close to all of the friends Ruby and I have made in the area. The house is wonderful and in a great area. I can't wait for it to warm up outside because I think Ruby will really enjoy playing in the yard. The kitties have also made themselves at home and seem to enjoy "talking" to the birds in the trees.

Ruby is really getting good at this crawling thing, and she is into EVERYTHING! I never thought I'd have to say "Ruby, no eating the power cord" so many times. And for the past few weeks she's really started pulling up on anything she can. When we get her in the morning, she is standing in her crib, she uses all of her toys to stand up, she uses the couch to stand, and now she has started to "walk" using her toys (just one or two steps ... more of scooting along on her feet.)

Also, Ruby is still doing wonderfully at daycare. When I went to pick her up the other day, she had taken all of her bottle, ate all of her vegetables, and was napping! The caretakers in the infant room are so good with her ... and they discovered that she loves watching bubbles and trying to grab them.

If you need our new address, send me an e-mail and I'll give it to you.

Daycare & Bar Exam

Ruby and her cousin got along so well!

So, in preparation for the February bar exam, I have begun taking night classes, and Ruby started daycare. Today was her first day and she was only there for a few hours. I think it's going to take some time for us to get used to this process. She's really hit a "mommy" stage -- she'll cry if I even leave the room ... But, she did pretty well. When I went to pick her up, she was swinging in the swing and seemed pretty happy.

So, Ruby has also started to eat more foods too. She loves graham crackers, avocado chunks, and cheerios. She has even figured out how to pick up the individual cheerios and put them in her mouth!

I am posting some more pictures from the holidays. And, I am doing a full upload to flickr at some point today.

On the move

Through the holidays Ruby had been showing us that she was wanting to get moving. Well today as we painted and put together a closet organizer, she did it. This video isn't of the occasion, but a quick clip from her following our younger cat Pipit - you'll see her at the end of the clip. Exciting times!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Jason, Ruby & I are getting ready to head back home to Tennessee, but we've had a lot of fun spending time with family in Omaha and Des Moines. This will mostly just be a picture update, but ... while on vacation, Ruby learned to say "Dada" (and direct it at Jason) and she learned to clap! Enjoy the pictures, I wll post more later.
