Ruby and I have been in Omaha since Wednesday because her Great Grandparents were here visiting. We went to Old Market and the zoo and just spent a lot of time hanging out. It seemed like Grandma and Grandpa really enjoyed their time with Ruby. We get back into Knoxville late Wednesday night and we have Ruby's four month appointment on Friday. Busy week ahead, but enjoy the pictures! I bwill post more pictures later ...

Attempting Video
Lots of updates on the Hill front. First, we're attempting some video, so hopefully it works. We've discovered that Ruby likes it when you make "kissy" noises at her and it makes her laugh. Sorry, Jason wasn't able to take out the 'spit-up' scene at the very end. Let us know if you like the video and we'll keep trying to put more up.
In other news, Ruby still won't roll over on command. Though she loves to flip from her back to her front every opportunity she gets. It's really cute, but the problem is, when she rolls onto her belly she starts to scream. So she really needs to figure out the front to back roll (she can do it, she just refuses to).
Ruby and I will be headed to Omaha on Wednesday because Ruby's Great-Grandparents will be there. So hopefully she flies as well as she did last time. And, we have booked our Christmas trip and we'll be in the Omaha and Des Moines area for the week between Christmas and New Year's.

Having fun ...
It's been a fun week in Eastern Tennessee. Thanks to Hurricane Ike, gas prices soared here and we were paying $5/gallon. It looks like it dropped today though, and now it's only $4.49/gallon. Crazy!
Because of that we spent the weekend inside, watching football. And it was not a good football weekend in the Hill household. Iowa State lost, which made us very sad. Michigan lost, which made Jason very sad. But, Tennessee won!
Ruby continues to grow. She's getting really good at holding her head up and she has found that very loud high pitched squeal. It's cute and funny, but after awhile, it can give you a headache :)

Quick update ... fair and flipping
Hey everyone! We had a very eventful day in the Hill household today. We woke up this morning and decided to take Ruby to the Tennessee Valley Fair. It was not nearly as neat as the Iowa State Fair, but we had fun. Ruby really liked the lights and sounds on the midway and Jason and I enjoyed some good food. We got to see cows and sheep, but there were not too many other animals there (or at least we didn't go looking for them ...) We spent a couple hours there and left just before the rain hit, so it was pretty good timing.
When we got home, I decided to take a nap on the couch and let Jason entertain Ruby for an hour. But, my nap was thwarted by a kitty who really wanted to snuggle with me!
Ruby really likes racecars!
Enjoy the pictures! (And yes, Ruby is asleep in most of them ...)

And, while Jason was cooking dinner I made Ruby have some "tummy time." Well, I put her on her belly and put her hands in front of her ... and the next thing I knew she was on her back! I yelled for Jason (he thought something was wrong) and put her back on her belly. And she did it again! (We tried to get her to do it on cue for the video camera, but she just screamed instead.) It really seemed to scare her to flip all on her own and it took a while to calm her down.

Must Assimilate ...
Jason has finally decided that if he is going to live in Tennessee he must assimilate and start (somewhat) rooting on Tennessee football. And, because he needed to do this, he figured he would also teach Ruby all about football.
